Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter. In the past few months I have been focusing on getting the first business growth group started and I am delighted to say that our second day of our first group takes place this week. This involves 6 business owners who are all working with me and each other over the next 9 months to significantly improve their profits and Cashflow. Today I spent this morning jog / walking the race for life with my family. It inspired me to see so many women, some fit, some not so, all joining together for one purpose – to remember and celebrate the lives and deaths of people they love who have suffered from cancer. There were Mum’s pushing prams and wheelchairs, people in wheelchairs themselves. Just in my family we ranged from 4 through to 69 and for today we all had one common purpose. So what is it that inspired you this weekend? Of course it was also Father’s day here in the UK so to all the Dad’s out there I hope you had a great day too.

The business growth programme, which is the core programme we deliver to business owners looking to accelerate their results, covers 7 key steps. What do you want your business to do for you and, most importantly, why?

To put this in context, one business owner I met with was very focused on growing their business to a turnover of £5 million as they felt it would allow them to compete in a very competitive London market and be recognised as a leading business within their field. Their reason was to get more balance in their life. They felt attracting top clients for best rates would allow them more time, flexibility and freedom. However, when we explored what the business would need to look like to achieve this it meant recruiting a team more than 5 times the size of their current one, spending more time themselves developing this team and the increased financial burden on the business looked like it would provide less financial security and demand even more hours of work. So, we set about finding a way to address the true goals in a way that suited their why. Instead of recruiting they are streamlining operations, putting systems in place and looking at ways to bring in associates to achieve a bigger presence without increased risk. In addition they are looking at what is not working which includes getting rid of the clients who are not suiting their ideal profile to ensure their time and energy is focused on clients that fit their profile and will enhance their reputation.

So what is your why? What do you want your business to do for you? Yes our businesses are meant to work for us, funny how often it feels they don’t. And what are your reasons for this? If you can answer these questions you will be one step closer to getting the growth for your business you want.
